Your Attitude Affects Weight Loss

Life is about 10 percent circumstance and 90 percent attitude. The important thing to remember is to stay focused and not distracted or stressed out when things don’t go the way you would like them to. You can lose weight, just not overnight. But remember, you didn’t gain it overnight either. Although easier said than done, try to keep everything in perspective.

When it comes to weight loss motivation, positive thinking can get you through many obstacles. Long-term positive thoughts can, in many cases help you cope with many difficulties and get you over those hurdles you are most likely to face.

If you allow it, what goes in your body and mind can affect your progress. You control your body; how you think and react. Motivation comes from within — keeping a positive attitude means that’s one less thing you have to overcome.

Give yourself a pat on the back for your accomplishments; no matter how small, but first you must start the journey.

Studies show that repeating an action for three consecutive weeks become habit-forming, more like second nature. This is very true when starting your weight loss journey. The first three weeks are usually the most difficult both physically and mentally. Good news – if you can stick with it and stay motivated in your efforts to lose weight for at least three weeks, you should find it a bit easier to stay motivated after that.

Questioning your abilities is not uncommon. But at times you might even ask “How did I allow myself to gain this much weight?” This is a very delicate period. You have to assess your options. You must take a step back and seriously think about it.

You have a couple of choices here, either keep going or quit. This is where you find out what you are made of. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep going. It takes drive and right mindset.

After you get through the initial stage the anxiety with start to fade away. You’ll start to look forward to your activity; it will become second nature as if you’re on autopilot and feel like less of a struggle.
